Preserving one's Tumblr legacy

This week I'm talking about Tumblr and the back ups I have them in event of things going awry.
This week I have been working across the Tumblr back ups working on Schoolboy Forever and That Traditional Schoolboy which are on Wordpress apart from Scouting and Me which is a side blog you can access from this  blog.

Each has a different start point and purpose in that starting with That Traditional School, it is in the main a secondary back up of my main Tumblr, the first being on 2mblr.com which at present doesn't allow fresh posting but does periodically update automatically.
As my Primary Tumblr, this isn't just reblogs of images, it has thinks such as links to the main long form blogger blog and many of the entries have commentary which is unique to me and that matters as a reflection of my thoughts and notes about past life.
Because 2mblr.com seems to running rather late in establishing the ability to make fresh posts so I can phase out the Tumblr with all the issues and politics that goes with it, the main reason I keep an update on Wordpress is because if the worst  comes to the worst on Tumblr and I'm banned or terminated, I can always post  on that until things resolve themselves.

Schoolboy Forever really was the first Wordpress blog I had being established a month later than the main Tumblr and fulfills a different function as The Traditional Schoolboy 2 as a tumblr was established as my main Tumblr had become a group blog having the odd guest posting but had lost the ability to send messages and asks so I needed something to that on and it was the case someone had an old Tumblr they were prepared to hand to me  and so it became mine.
Sadly that was wiped out in November last year so I ended up making a new version  and as within a month of that the changes around content and use of A.I systems were causing major problems, I decided as this had less entries than The Traditional Schoolboy on tumblr did by a large margin to prioritize backing that up on Wordpress while sorting out the importing of The Traditional Schoolboy to 2mblr.com first as there was more of a need to preserve it.
What the importing of That Traditional Schoolboy2 did in effect was to provide the content of the started but uncompleted Wordpress blog  and to manually transfer over most of the newer posts by hand but with a lot more commentary as I had more time to express my thoughts.
One area that has become more problematic on tumblr is both publication of pictures with sizable amounts of bare skin even if the posts are very much safe for work and anything around the role of spanking in age regressed adult little boy and specifically adult schoolboy lives.
This is an issue if like me it *is* part of your life even if you don't post all the time about and even keep posts sfw so it's a spot when I can not just restore as I did some of the posts that were lost with the changes in December but also to discuss openly the topic.

Scouting and Me really started the other way around with a load of issues on Tumblr I was fighting, I started to think about writing something less frequent around scouting, the connection cub scout had in my childhood and how channeling the spirit of being a cub scout was helping me.
I decided in the main to actually write more long form on blogger but using some images I had found on the likes of Tumblr expressing that and of the three that is so much a spiritual love letter between scouting and myself that I post over on to Tumblr.
It's really the third blog between the main That Uniformed Schoolboy which is the whole thing childhood pasts and present day adult little boy presents as that eternal ten year old boy and this That Traditional Schoolboy's Dorm which more around my feelings emotions talking also about spanking in my life as the reins have been handed back to the level I function best at.

Lessons learned

Gender politics  runs deep in our societies discourse whither it's those who allege to be male is to have an inheritable  privilege in society or those who feel anyone who 'identities' with any gender is just it regardless the one thing they have in common is they all DEMAND tolerance and shut down disagreements showing that liberal contradiction of our time, intolerance around toleration and different views.

Let's start with something straightforward  gender really is about the sense socially you feel you are and what that is does include societal attitudes and preferences which for good measure can change with time.

You cannot actually change gender in that sense because that is how you see you and there is a small proportion of people who don't  fit in with how society sees their own gender expression. That's a head thing really.

There's a section who clearly have actual dysphoria a disgust, a revulsion about how their own bodies are who may need some help to deal with it but that really is about sex, your physical side not least for males your penis and testicles and for females your breasts and vagina.

The traditional way of dealing with the idea that you don't feel the gender you are is to change your physical appearance to match that which matches your gender but that doesn't make you internally a female even if you grow breasts and have a vagina fashioned.

I'm understanding of the latter although it is by no means either straightforward or really a 'cure' and wish them well.

What I do feel and some will loath me for saying it is the problem we have over gender is actually the result of own narrow roles not least for boys and putting children on a course of pills and in time surgery to remake outward physical appearances to match societies issues isn't right.

A good number of male to female transexual do find actually not only having such re-assignment or more accurately  gender confirmation surgery doesn't actually do anything for their idea of gender expression but actually wish to have their surgery reversed.

More over and I'm well qualified to say this is there is a push toward the idea not of exploring what being a boy can be but more one of "so you're questioning your gender, you can't really be a boy then" when it may be that either you have little idea of what boys really do have interests in and specifically a lack of real tuition in what being a boy really is and how you might handle manhood.

I know cos I went through this without going down the medical side and I found it did nothing for me and what I really needed was to work on what it means to be male in the 21st century and to learn to love my self and my male body.

Boys don't need to have their balls removed to be helped with issues around who they are and gender expression in the male world and no to be blunt I don't think it is acceptable when you don't have dysphoria.

International Women's Day edition

Friday was "International Women's Day"  which basically meant that on social media every sponsored or promoted post assumed you were female, the BBC decided the One Show would be present just by women and lots of posts and meetings were done by women discussing female empowerment.

Note there is not an International Men's Day and increasingly organizations are having co-presented shows on radio and tv to avoid just a man doing it but it's okay for all women presented shows, apparently.

Meghan Markel contributed the thought she believed her baby should be a feminist regardless of gender and adding "men can understand that they can be feminists" at which point a wave of disgust came over me.

Men can and should support equal opportunity, treating both genders as equals but they cannot be feminists because it's not your struggle, you don't have a stake in that battle and to the extent you should have a stake in anything personally it's about the roles and treatment of men, men like you that should be your own battle.

Things like the shortage of male teachers that means boys are going without good male role models in class especially in single parent households, low levels of boys achievement in math and english, higher male unemployment and involvement in violent crime.

These ARE our battles to argue for as men and boys, fighting for a better deal so as boys and men we can contribute along with girls and women to bettering society.

We don't need women enlisting us first and foremost in their own battles because it is our responsibility to fight for ourselves and that assumes everything is fine in the male world.
It isn't and many males are less than privileged.

Birthday thoughts

Today is actually a special day but much of that will be left to the main blog on Friday to talk about such as these things do pan out.
One thing to say when it comes to any kind of annual event is for me it is more like an endless loop rather than a linear progression because for being forever a boy it is more or less the same as it ever was whatever my chronological age may be.
Thus emotionally today just feels like the tenth birthday and people sometimes say like why do you go on about things in that year I became ten and the answer was and is that's very much where what interests me and how I see things remains.
It's not that it's an identical re-run because for instance I read new books and watch new tv shows never mind things have moved from the heyday of Mud and the Bay City Rollers musically but more I engage in their modern equivalents having more in common with aspects of today's ten year olds.
Unlike then, we do use computers to view websites, play games and stream shows in ways that back then we couldn't imagine but that's just the means of doing very much the same sorts of things because beneath all that sophistication that's in modern life for all, we're still the same children with the same needs.
