Being

This is the world I've known from the minute that I had been expected to dress myself more even though with my disabilities it was and remains difficult  needing help fastening things like ties, shoe laces and shirt buttons.

It's the eternal boy of ten I see every time I look at the dressing table mirror

Tv highlights

One of the programs I liked to watch on Saturday's was Jim'll Fix It, a requests program where people young and sometimes old would write in asking to meet various people or to do something that normally they wouldn't have access to.

I would sit glued to the screen in rapt attention throughout the show as the requests where read and film of them having this dream come true fixed would be shown sometimes with the person appearing live on the show afterwards.

Jimmy Saville  the shows presenter is widely believed to had been involved in sexual assaults whose details came out after his death although there are some who suggest on the information given it was unlikely.

He also presented on a number of occasions the pop music show Top of the Pops where it was just about the only place anyone who had to be in bed for nine if not a a quarter to nine had to see and hear music on the tv.

Whatever the truth of that might be, it doesn't take away how I felt about the shows and it's place in the week's highlights at the time for me.

New Year 2017 edition

So Christmas has ended, we carefully put away our christmas tree lights, festive angels and of course Mary and Joseph nativity scene for another year while we watch the new year special programs on BBC including these days our beloved CBBC.

Just what the year may bring it is hard to say for there are some key rituals we reinact like birthdays and our hols but then there's so much randomness too from the pleasant surprises to the really sad but it all balences out in the end.

That at least is what Mum always says.
